About me, my market, and what I love most about my work:
I am an Italian film critic and journalist living in New York since 2011. After almost 30 years of writing about movies, I still love so much when my mind and my imaginations are captured by good storytelling and meaningful characters. Been able to explain with all the clarity I can what a good movie means to me is the thing I love most about my work.
This is my passion project, or passion in general:
Being such a huge movie lover, I started a Movie Tour in the Upper West Side of New York (I just became a licensed Tour Guide): walking through UWS streets and talking about past masterpieces directed by Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Billy Wilder and other legendary directors it’s an absolute pleasure I am dedicating most of my free time.
What it means to me to be part of CCA:
I feel so honored to be a CCA member, after so many years of working – both in Italy and a s a correspondent form NY – I feel it is the best possible acknowledgment to my passion and resilience. Sharing ideas and opinions about movies and TV series with other friends/CCA members is so fun!
My Favorite Film/ TV series that I am currently watching and why:
I am currently watching Ted Lasso (Apple TV+) because it is way more than a feel-good series, it shows with depth and kindness the struggles of characters we all can relate to. I am also watching Esterno Notte, an Italian miniseries directed by the best Italian author, Marco Bellocchio. If faces one of the darkest times in Italian contemporary history with a unique and personal perspective. Dazzling. About movies, the last ones I truly loved are Empire of Light by Sam Mendes and Black Phone by Scott Derrickson.
