About me, my market, and what I love most about my work:
Hello! I’m an On-Air Host, Producer and Writer based in Los Angeles, who became a member of the Critics Choice Association in 2014. I started my hosting career 17 years ago for the nationally-syndicated TV show Made in Hollywood, which I still cover junkets for. Only now – we have merged with Moviefone! At this point I think I’ve interviewed every major star except for Johnny Depp! TBD on if that ever happens. I am also the lead host and writer for NTWRK, a mobile-first video shopping platform that seamlessly blends entertainment and commerce. For NTWRK, I host live product drops and branded content revolving around sneakers, streetwear and highly-coveted collectibles. Think QVC-meets-culture! For the past six years I have also been the Host, Producer and Senior Writing Manger of Yahoo! Entertainment’s super successful series Last Night Now, which covers primetime and late-night television highlights. As you can probably tell – what I love most about my work is always meeting new people, constantly hustling and doing as much as possible. I have always loved being in front of the camera. In fact, I have been a SAG/AFTRA member since 1995 – I started my career in the entertainment industry at just four years old as a child-actress. However, that career took a hiatus when I was accepted into Troy High School, a math and science technology magnet school. I graduated high school at the age of 16 years old and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing from California State University, Long Beach. (I originally thought I’d attend law school after watching Legally Blonde.)
This is my passion project, or passion in general:
In recent years, my passion project has become shining a light on the unrecognized and being a voice within the AAPI community, which is why, when it comes to the CCA, I am most proud of my role as a co-programmer and co-writer of the Celebration of Asian Pacific Cinema & Television! I’m so looking forward to our second show this year. I may be biased, but if you didn’t attend last year, you totally missed out!
What it means to me to be part of CCA:
Being a part of the CCA makes me feel like I’m part of a large, distinguished and respected community, and I’m looking forward to carrying on our organization’s legacy for years to come!
My Favorite Film/ TV series that I am currently watching and why:
I tend to look to film and TV shows for the escapism (sorry not sorry I stay away from all of those murder and crime docs). I just finished the upcoming Netflix series Glamorous starring Kim Cattrall and thoroughly enjoyed it!
