About me, my market, and what I love most about my work.
I’m a fifth generation Angelena who moved to Las Vegas a few years ago. The transition from the City of Angeles to Sin City was a bit of a challenge, but I’ve found a vibrant film critic community here, extraordinary people, a beautiful tribe, less stress and $38 round-trip flights to Burbank.
I’m able to do my job(s) from anywhere—they include doing live weekly film and television reviews for a number of Cumulus radio stations across the country, writing about celebrity real estate and renovation TV for Realtor.com, and running the website AtHomeInHollywood.com, which focuses on film, television and lifestyle.
With so many entertainment options out there and so little time to take advantage of them all, I like to help people make their own best viewing choices and get the biggest return on their precious time and money. I love having a ready, customized answer for the question we all get asked most: What should I watch?
This is my passion project, or passion in general.
I’m fortunate to have two great passions in my life right now. One is helping fellow CCA members make the most of their careers and their invaluable content via The Member Empowerment Series, a very exciting new project you’ll be hearing more about very soon.
My other passion project is working with my giant white labradoodle, Therapy Dog Frankie Feldman, visiting healthcare facilities, special ed programs, crisis centers and anywhere else people are in need of comfort from a big loving fluff muffin.
What it means to me to be part of CCA.
I’ve been a member for about 20 years now (yes, I’m old as dirt), and have always reveled in the opportunity to associate with vital people in the same field. My colleagues inspire me on so many levels, and I’m looking forward to giving something back to them.
My favorite Film/TV series that inspires/empowers me as a woman & why.
There are so many! I was overwhelmed by Women Talking—it was a revelation. Seeing women, without the artifices of cell phones, social media, appearance or modern contrivances, focusing on the content of the soul and the basic tenets of humanity, was infinitely moving and powerful.
My favorite Film/TV series that I am currently watching and why.
Again, so many! I’m loving Silo, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel‘s final season, Schmigadoon! and I adored Daisy Jones & the Six. My dirty little secret is that I read almost every novel that’s adapted for the big and small screens. Can’t wait for Lessons in Chemistry!
