Rendy Jones
- Biography:
- Born in 1998, Rendy Jones has been in love with movies ever since he watched his first home video as a child. With a huge passion for film that he wears on his sleeve, Jones was determined to become a filmmaker and associate himself with the art form no matter what. In February 2012, at the age of 13, Rendy Jones began self-publishing his own reviews on his own website and still does to this day. Transitioning from his adolescent years and into adulthood, this 21-year-old film journalist from Brooklyn, NY has become the youngest African-American featured film critic on Rotten Tomatoes and one of the youngest critics on the site overall (as of 2018). Leading a film review site aimed for a Gen-Z/millennial demographic, titled "Rendy Reviews," the site contains reviews and editorials of theatrical/streaming releases, interviews and a podcast which is currently in development. Featured on sites such as Fandango, Indiewire and written articles for Film School Rejects, Jones has accomplished so much at such a young age. Along with his best friend, Myan Mercado, who copy edits his work, “Rendy Reviews” has grown to be a fun, hilarious and unique blog site over the course of nearly a decade.
