We did it again!

Our Silver Anniversary Critics’ Choice Awards gala on January 12th ranked with our best shows ever. The ratings were good, the reviews were better and no one can recall a better vibe in the room as hundreds of film and television stars joined hundreds of Critics Choice Association members in a celebration of a very strong year of moving image content creation.
Food service got more attention than usual this year. It is a nearly impossible task to deliver good food to 1,500 people in an airplane hangar without a kitchen. Encouraged by our Best Actor winner Joaquin Phoenix and other stars to make a statement about climate crisis by serving only plant-based foods during the show, we got a lot of nice press when we announced that plan, which took a tremendous effort by our main food sponsors The Counter and Baja Fresh. The problem, as too many of you found out, was that they underestimated how much food was needed and some tables got little or no service at all during the show. That won’t happen again.
But most importantly, we delivered smart and funny three-hour show that featured some great acceptance speeches and a group of very deserving and grateful winners. Taye Diggs was a charming host again and our broadcast partners at The CW were happy to let us do our thing to the benefit of their audience and all our guests at the Barker Hangar.

Onward and upward!
